Ben-Gvir unveils plan to displace 1.86M Palestinians from Gaza
Tel Aviv, Sept. 4 -- Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir on Thursday, September 3, unveiled an election campaign proposal that would seek to facilitate the departure of about 1.86 million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip over seven years under what he described as a programme of "voluntary emigration".
The plan, dubbed "Disengagement 710", sets a target of 250,000 Palestinians leaving Gaza in its first year, rising to about 1.11 million within three years and 1.86 million within seven years, according to Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth. About 2 million Palestinians currently live in the territory.
