Hyderabad, Nov. 7 -- The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) on Saturday, November 7, imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on Akshayakalpa Farms and Foods Private Limited in Jubilee Hills for using drinking water to clean floors.

The Board has also temporarily disconnected the building's sewage connection.

HMWSSB has intensified its crackdown on the misuse of drinking water amid the water crisis in Hyderabad.

It has urged residents to restrict the use of drinking water to domestic purposes. For activities like cleaning and gardening, the board has launched green water tankers, which supply treated water from sewage treatment plants.
