Hyderabad, Oct. 25 -- The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday, October 24, seized Rs 2.4 lakh in unaccounted cash from Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) Joint Director A Srinivas.

According to ACB, they acted on information received from an anonymous caller saying that a higher official of the HMWSSB was carrying cash allegedly collected illegally from his office and proceeding towards his residence.

ACB intercepted the car opposite Metro Residency Apartments located at Raj Bhavan Road and found the cash with Srinivas. On enquiry regarding the possession of such cash while returning from office, he failed to provide a satisfactory explanation and gave inconsistent versions, ACB said.
