Patna, Nov. 6 -- In the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections, 27.5 percent votes were polled by 11:00 am on Thursday, November 6.
According to repots, the maximum turnout was recorded in Begusarai district 30.37 per cent, as per Bihar's Chief Electoral Officer. Patna district saw the lowest turnout so far with 23.71 per cent.
Significance for coalition members
This phase is crucial for the smaller parties in both coalitions. Ten of the 20 seats CPI(ML) is contesting fall under this phase, out of which they hold six seats.
In NDA, ten of the 29 seats that the Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas) contested are in the first phase. NDA holds only one of these ten seats.
