India, Sept. 14 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings on Hindi Diwas, emphasizing that the growing global respect for Hindi is a source of pride and inspiration.

He described Hindi as a vibrant heritage of identity and values, urging citizens to enrich it and other Indian languages for future generations.

Observed every year on September 14, Hindi Diwas commemorates the adoption of Hindi as one of India's official languages. The date holds historical importance, as in 1949, the Constituent Assembly reached a consensus on the official language framework during the drafting of the Constitution.
