Uttarakhand Earthquake: 4.9-Magnitude Tremors Felt in Delhi-NCR
India, Oct. 7 -- A 4.9-magnitude earthquake struck Uttarakhand's Chamoli district on Tuesday night, sending tremors across several parts of the state and parts of Delhi-NCR. According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at around 10:24 p.m., with its epicentre in Chamoli at a depth of approximately 13 km.
Tremors were reported from Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Champawat, Rudraprayag and Chamoli, while residents in Bhowali, Haldwani, Khatima, Rishikesh, Gopeshwar and Badrinath also felt the shaking. The tremors were strong enough to be noticed in parts of Delhi and the adjoining National Capital Region.
