New Delhi, Dec. 11 -- Union Power Minister Manohar Lal announced the approval of the Green Energy Corridor-III, facilitating a 115-gigawatt transmission expansion in Rajasthan, crucial for India's "energy sector super highway."
Speaking at the Pravasi Rajasthani Divas, he acknowledged the state's leadership in renewable energy, particularly in solar capacity, which has led to significant advancements and investments.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma emphasized the state's commitment to energy self-reliance, with numerous solar projects underway, including over 10,533 MW under the PM-KUSUM scheme, empowering farmers as energy providers.
The expansion of battery storage systems to meet peak power demands is also underway.
