India, Aug. 31 -- The electronic system design and manufacturing industry has welcomed the government's notification of the Rs 1.27 lakh crore Semicon 2.0 programme, saying the initiative could catalyse more than Rs 5 lakh crore in cumulative private investment over the next five to seven years. Industry leaders believe the expanded scheme could significantly strengthen India's semiconductor ecosystem by supporting investment across the entire chip manufacturing and design value chain.
