India, Sept. 30 -- The Sanchar Saathi App, launched in May 2023 by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), has successfully facilitated the recovery of over 600,000 lost or stolen mobile handsets, significantly enhancing citizens' trust in digital governance.
This platform empowers users to report, block, and trace lost devices, integrating real-time collaboration with telecom service providers and law enforcement. Recovery rates have increased by 61% from January to August 2025, reflecting improved citizen awareness and enforcement collaboration.
