India, Aug. 15 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted energy security, critical minerals and domestic resource exploration as key priorities for India's future growth during his Independence Day address from the Red Fort. He said the country is targeting 100 GW of nuclear power capacity by 2047 to meet rising electricity demand.

PM Modi said critical minerals are essential for advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, semiconductors and data centres. He highlighted the National Critical Minerals Mission and Critical Minerals Corridor, along with agreements being pursued with several countries to secure supplies and strengthen India's position in the sector.
