Ken-Betwa Link Project: Govt Clarifies Compensation, Rehab
India, Aug. 14 -- Key Highlights
Rs590.74 crore of Rs629.87 crore awarded to 5,039 affected families has been disbursed.
The project will provide irrigation to 10.62 lakh hectares and drinking water to nearly 62 lakh people.
Land compensation is based on the RFCTLARR Act or Rs12.50 lakh per hectare, whichever is higher.
The government says remaining compensation and rehabilitation cases are being processed through legal and administrative procedures.
