India, Sept. 25 -- Indian Railways has approved the construction of a four-lane Road Over Bridge (ROB) at Alkapuri in Vadodara Division of Western Railway at a total estimated cost of Rs166.5 crore. The project will be implemented on a cost-sharing basis with the State Government, with both sides contributing approximately Rs83.2769 crore each.

The existing Alkapuri Road Under Bridge (RUB) near Vadodara Railway Station is an important east-west road link connecting the Alkapuri and Kalaghoda areas of the city. However, the RUB has a vertical clearance of only around 3 metres, restricting the movement of larger vehicles.
