India, Sept. 9 -- India is set to significantly expand its global skills presence with first-time participation in 11 new skill categories at the 48th WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai. The international competition will be held from September 22 to 27, 2026, with Team Skill India fielding nearly 70 competitors across 63 of the 64 skills, making it one of the country's largest and most diverse representations at the event.

The new categories cover a wide range of future-focused skills and emerging industries.
