New Delhi, Sept. 25 -- India has successfully tested the Intermediate Range Agni-Prime Missile from a Rail based Mobile launcher system, as announced by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
This missile, designed to cover a range of up to 2,000 km, positions India among a select group of nations capable of deploying a canisterized launch system from a mobile rail network.
The test, part of India's push for self-reliance in defence as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizes cross-country mobility and rapid launch capabilities with reduced visibility. Singh congratulated the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the Strategic Forces Command (SFC), and the armed forces for this achievement.
