New Delhi, Aug. 5 -- India's textile and apparel exports to Japan for 2024 are valued at $354 million, while Japan's total imports in this sector amount to $30.87 billion. The India-Japan CEPA, signed in 2011, aims to lower tariffs and enhance competitiveness for Indian exporters.

Recently, a high-level delegation visited Japan to engage with major Japanese firms in the textile sector, encouraging them to invest in #PMMITRA parks and take advantage of India's textile ecosystem.

The Indian government is promoting the sector through various initiatives, including the PM MITRA Parks Scheme for modern textile infrastructure and the PLI Scheme aimed at boosting manufacturing.
