New Delhi, Dec. 10 -- The total installed renewable energy capacity in India reached 250.64 GW as of October 31, with solar energy making a significant contribution.
Solar capacity rose from 2.82 GW in March 2014 to 129.92 GW, while wind capacity increased from 21.04 GW to 53.60 GW, and biomass from 8.18 GW to 11.61 GW during the same period.
India has emerged as a major player in global renewable energy growth, contributing 46 GW to solar additions from 2022 to 2024 and achieving the highest-ever non-fossil capacity addition in the current financial year at 31.25 GW.
