India, Sept. 22 -- India and the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) have agreed to further strengthen energy cooperation, with discussions focusing on oil market stability, energy security and investment requirements across the oil industry. The high-level meeting was co-chaired by Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri and OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais.

The two sides reviewed the short-, medium- and long-term outlooks for the energy sector and discussed India's growing role in global economic activity and energy demand.
