India, May 8 -- More than 97 lakh domestic LPG cylinders were delivered against bookings of around 87.66 lakh in the last two days, while online bookings for cooking gas touched 99 per cent, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said on Wednesday.

The government said LPG supply across the country remains normal despite disruptions linked to the West Asian crisis and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Around 95 per cent of deliveries were authenticated through mobile-based verification to prevent diversion at the distributor level.

Public sector oil companies also sold over 15,493 metric tonnes of commercial LPG during the period, while more than 1.11 lakh 5-kg cylinders were distributed for migrant workers in urban areas.
