India, May 29 -- The sanction was issued through video conferencing to Assam, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.

Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the government has made substantial progress under PMAY-G, with 3.91 crore houses approved against the target of 4.95 crore, while over 3.05 crore homes have already been completed.

According to Rohit Kansal, Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, the latest release follows an earlier Rs 11,121 crore mother sanction for FY27, taking total sanctioned support to over Rs 21,000 crore.
