New Delhi, Oct. 7 -- On October 7, the Indian government introduced new UPI features at the Global Fintech Festival 2025, focusing on enhancing payment security and user experience.
Key offerings include on-device biometric authentication, allowing users to authenticate transactions via fingerprint or facial recognition instead of using a UPI PIN. Additionally, Aadhaar-based face authentication simplifies PIN creation and resetting, making it more accessible for first-time users and senior citizens.
A new mode for cash withdrawals through micro-ATMs using UPI was also launched, promoting inclusivity in cash transactions. These innovations aim to streamline digital payments and improve security for users.
