India, Aug. 27 -- Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Khanna has clarified that there is no proposal to replace E20 petrol with E10. He said the ongoing discussion is instead about whether older vehicles should have access to a lower-ethanol fuel containing 10% ethanol.

Khanna explained that E10 petrol contains 10% ethanol and 90% petrol, while E20 contains 20% ethanol and 80% petrol. He said discussions are examining the possibility of providing E10 specifically for older vehicles, although simultaneously supplying another petrol grade could create supply and logistics challenges.
