India, March 18 -- The Odisha government on Wednesday suspended four officials for alleged dereliction of duty in connection with the fire at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack that claimed 12 lives.

The action was taken following a directive from Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

The suspended officials include Prakash Kumar Jena, Deputy Fire Officer of Cuttack Circle; Sanjeeb Kumar Behera, Assistant Fire Officer of Cuttack Circle; Abhinab Prusty, Station Officer at SCB Medical College and Hospital; and Ranjan Kumar Biswal, Assistant Executive Engineer of the SCB sub-division under Cuttack GED.Odisha Travel Guide
