India, March 20 -- Mohana MLA Dasarathi Gomango today broke his silence over the allegations of cross-voting in the March 16 Rajya Sabha elections in Odisha.

The Congress party has suspended Gomango and two other MLAs-Ramesh Jena and Sofia Firdous-for defying party whip in the Rajya Sabha polls.

In a statement, the Mohana legislator rejected the allegations of cross-voting in the Rajya Sabha polls.

"I have not resorted to cross-voting in the Rajya Sabha elections. I cast my vote as per the direction of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Bhakta Charan Das," said Gomango.
