Cuttack, Oct. 3 -- In a major security lapse, two undertrial prisoners from Bihar escaped from Choudwar Circle Jail in Cuttack late on Thursday night.

According to reports, the duo, who was lodged in the prison in connection with a murder case, managed to cut through the bars of their cell around 1 a.m. and fled.

Both had been shifted to Choudwar from Jajpur Jail. They had earlier attempted multiple times to escape.

Police have launched a manhunt to trace them.
