India, April 1 -- President Droupadi Murmu has approved the conferment of the President of India's Police Colour on the Odisha Police, recognising the force's distinguished service and excellence.Odisha tourism guide

The decision was communicated by the Ministry of Home Affairs to the Odisha Chief Secretary through an official letter.

The President's Police Colour, also known as 'Nishaan', is the highest honour awarded to a police force in the country. It is granted in recognition of exceptional performance in areas such as crime prevention, maintenance of law and order, disaster response, and administrative efficiency.
