India, June 20 -- In a shocking incident that has raised serious concerns over law and order, unidentified miscreants opened fire at the residence of Binika Block Chairperson Dipti Rekha Nand in Singijuba village under Sonepur district late on Friday night.

According to reports, more than 20 to 25 rounds were allegedly fired at the house. While no casualties have been reported, bullets struck portions of the gate, shutter, and two vehicles parked inside and outside the premises.

Family members said the attackers targeted the residence around midnight and continued firing for several minutes before fleeing the spot. Fortunately, none of the occupants inside the house were injured in the attack.
