India, Sept. 9 -- The fourth edition of WikiConference India 2026 was held in Kerala's Kochi recently. The event witnessed participation from several Wikimedians connected to Odisha, representing different Wikimedia language communities and areas of work.

The three-day conference brought together more than 220 Wikimedia volunteers, researchers, educators, technologists, community leaders and advocates of free and open knowledge from India and other parts of South Asia.

Held under the theme 'Reimagining the Knowledge Commons', the conference focused on the future of open knowledge and the changing role of Wikimedia communities in an era increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence.
