India, Sept. 4 -- The Odisha government on Friday released the fifth instalment of financial assistance under the CM-KISAN scheme, benefiting more than 41 lakh farmer families across the state.

Under the latest instalment, eligible beneficiaries will receive Rs 2,000 each through direct benefit transfer (DBT). Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi transferred more than Rs 833 crore directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

The fund transfer was carried out at a state-level programme held at the Krushi Shiksha Sadan of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) in Bhubaneswar.

The beneficiaries include small and marginal farmers, particularly vulnerable tribal groups (PVTGs), as well as landless farmer families.
