Odisha Govt orders statewide survey of NGO-run Special Schools operating without recognition
India, July 18 -- The Odisha government has initiated a statewide drive to identify NGO-run special schools for children with disabilities that are operating without the permission or recognition of the Department of Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD).
The SSEPD Department has directed all District Social Security Officers (DSSOs) to conduct a comprehensive survey within their respective jurisdictions to identify special schools functioning without the department's knowledge or approval.
