India, June 17 -- At least seven districts in Odisha have extended the summer vacation for schools in view of the prevailing hot and humid weather conditions.

The authorities in Ganjam, Sundargarh, Sonepur, Angul, Boudh, Balangir and Sambalpur have extended the summer vacation due to the adverse weather conditions.

Earlier, the state government had announced that the schools across Odisha will reopen on June 18 after the summer vacation, that began on April 27.

The Ganjam Collector and District Magistrate extended the summer vacation till June 20 by issuing an office order today.
