India, March 23 -- Odisha is on the verge of becoming completely free of Maoist influence, with only 15 Maoists currently active in the state, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed the Assembly today.Odisha Tourism Information
In a written reply to a question in the House, the Chief Minister said Maoist presence is now limited to a few border areas spanning Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Rayagada districts.
Majhi stated that 96 Maoists and militia members have surrendered in Odisha over the last two years.
