According to reports, court proceedings were underway as usual when authorities received a threatening email claiming that explosives had been planted on the court premises. The message, allegedly sent in the name of a group called "Tamil Nadu Liberation Group," warned of an imminent blast.

Acting swiftly, District Judge Shantanu Kumar Das ordered all staff, lawyers, and litigants to vacate the premises as a precautionary measure.
