Odisha: Livestock Inspector held for taking Rs 80,000 bribe; house searches unearth over Rs 8 lakh in cash
India, June 26 -- The Odisha Vigilance today arrested a Livestock Inspector in Odisha's Nabarangpur district on charges of accepting Rs 80,000 as bribe from a beneficiary of the Mukhyamantri Kamadhenu Yojana.
Accused Prafulla Haldar, the Livestock Inspector of Raighar, had allegedly sought Rs 80,000 as bribe from the beneficiary to release the subsidy amount under the scheme.
Haldar had threatened to block the subsidy amount if the beneficiary does not pay the bribe.
The victim had lodged a complaint in this regard with the Odisha Vigilance. Subsequently, a trap was laid and the Livestock Inspector was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe from the victim.
