India, June 12 -- The state government has initiated process for the establishment of a medical college in Odisha's Jagatsinghpur district.

The health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department has asked the Collector and District Magistrate of Jagatsinghpur to take the necessary steps for acquisition of land for establishment of the government medical college.

The state government has identified around 28 acre private land and 19 acre government land at Neepur village under Jagatsinghpur Tahasil for establishment of the medical college, said the H&FW Department in a letter to the Jagatsinghpur Collector.
