India, July 10 -- Biju Janata Dal (BJD), the principal Opposition party in Odisha, has lodged a police complaint against a social media influencer for allegedly posting abusive and derogatory content against party president and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Naveen Patnaik.

The regional party lodged an FIR against social media influencer Preeti Prakash Nayak at Capital Police Station in Bhubaneswar.

As per the complaint, Nayak allegedly posted AI-generated deepfake videos targeting Patnaik, a five-time former Chief Minister, in his Instagram account 'Social Talk'.

The social media influencer also shared derogatory contents against Patnaik and his former aide VK Pandian in his Instagram account, alleged BJD.
