India, April 3 -- A newborn baby allegedly died due to medical negligence at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Odisha's Sambalpur, with the family accusing doctors of failing to provide timely treatment.According to reports, the infant son of Mahesh Bagarti and Susmita Bagarti from Sakhipada was born on April 1. The baby reportedly fell ill late at night, and his condition began to deteriorate around 1 am.

The family alleged that despite the newborn's critical condition, no doctor attended to the child for nearly nine hours. They claimed that repeated requests for medical assistance went unanswered, leading to a delay in treatment.
