India, March 22 -- A major accident was narrowly avoided after a bulker truck carrying aluminium powder overturned onto three houses near Kanak Parameswari Temple in Muniguda block of Odisha's Rayagada district early Sunday morning.

According to reports, the truck was on its way from Visakhapatnam to Jharsuguda when the driver reportedly lost control near the temple. The vehicle veered off the road and toppled onto nearby houses, causing significant structural damage.

Walls of the houses collapsed, and asbestos roofing sheets were shattered in the impact. Despite the severity of the incident, members of all three families managed to escape unharmed, avoiding what could have been a tragic loss of life.
