India, Sept. 7 -- A court in Gunupur has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering his relative in Sirijholi village under Gunupur block in Rayagada district.

According to reports, the incident took place on July 21, 2023, when S. Ramesh was sleeping at night. His relative, Singipuram Budu, 55, allegedly attacked him with an axe following a dispute.

Advertisement Ramesh sustained serious injuries in the attack and subsequently died. Following the incident, a person identified as Boshi Buji lodged a complaint at Gunupur police station.

Acting on the complaint, police arrested Budu and initiated an investigation into the murder.
