Low pressure area likely to form over Bay of Bengal around October 13: IMD
India, Oct. 9 -- A low-pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal around October 13 under the influence of an upper-air cyclonic circulation expected to develop over the North Andaman Sea and adjoining areas around October 11, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said.
According to the IMD's extended-range outlook for cyclogenesis over the North Indian Ocean, the system is likely to become more marked after its formation and move west-northwestwards towards the coasts of north Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh over the following three to four days.
The development is being closely monitored, with further details about its potential intensity expected to emerge as it forms.
