Low pressure area likely to form on Sept 19, move towards Odisha-Andhra coast with intensification: IMD
India, Sept. 16 -- A low pressure area is likely to form over the north Andaman Sea around the evening of September 19, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its latest bulletin today.
According to the IMD, an upper-air cyclonic circulation is currently lying over north Thailand and extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level. The system is likely to emerge over the north Andaman Sea by the evening of September 18.
Under its influence, a low pressure area is expected to develop over the same region around September 19 evening. The system is then likely to intensify gradually while moving west-northwestwards towards the south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts over the following three to four days.
