India, Aug. 8 -- A low-pressure area has formed over southwest West Bengal and adjoining north Odisha under the influence of an upper-air cyclonic circulation, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its latest bulletin.

The weather system formed at 8.30 am on Saturday, August 8, according to the IMD.

The system is likely to bring heavy rainfall to several parts of Odisha, with the IMD issuing an orange warning for four districts and a yellow warning for the rest of the districts for today.

Under the orange warning, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh and Sambalpur.
