India, July 29 -- The flood situation in Odisha's Jajpur district has worsened as rising waters of the Kani River breached embankments and entered several villages, leaving many families stranded.Odisha Economy Updates

In Dasarathpur block, floodwater from the Kani River has entered Dobhabil village under Tarapada panchayat, flowing at an estimated depth of around three feet. Despite efforts by district and block administration officials to strengthen the embankment with sandbags, authorities have been unable to stop the inflow of water.
