India, July 26 -- In view of the forecast of heavy rainfall, the district administrations of Mayurbhanj, Jagatsinghpur, and Kendrapara have announced a one-day closure of schools on Monday.

In Mayurbhanj, District Education Officer Purna Chandra Sethi informed the holiday will apply to all government and private educational institutions up to Class 12. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students amid the possibility of intense rainfall.

However, teachers and staff have been directed to attend their respective schools as usual. They have been instructed to monitor the situation closely and coordinate with the local administration if required.
