Flood situation may continue in Odisha for 4-5 days: Official
India, Aug. 17 -- The flood situation in Odisha may continue for another four to five days, as water levels in several rivers remain high following heavy rainfall, an official of the Water Resources Department said on Monday.
Dillip Kumar Rout, Engineer-in-Chief of the Odisha Water Resources Department, said flood conditions continue in the Brahmani and Baitarani rivers, with water flowing above the danger mark at several locations
There is no flood situation in the Subarnarekha and Jalka rivers at present, he added.
Rout said water levels may continue to rise until Monday night, after which they are expected to start falling. Although rainfall continues in Jharkhand, the inflow from Chandil Dam is currently around 1,500 cusecs.
