India, March 19 -- A family in Arjunpalli village under Kabisuryanagar police limits in Odisha's Ganjam district has allegedly been ostracised after selling agricultural land to a person of a scheduled caste.
According to the reports, Dayanidhi Gouda, a resident of the village, had sold a portion of his farmland a few years ago to meet expenses related to his daughter's marriage. Following the sale, a village meeting was convened, where he was penalised for transferring land to a person from another caste.Odisha Culture Blog
