India, June 16 -- An elderly woman of Chhadeyapada village in Beguniapada block of Odisha's Ganjam district allegedly died by suicide after not receiving pension from the government for the last three months.

The deceased has been identified as Savitri Dora, a senior citizen who was reportedly dependent on the pension amount for her daily expenses. Family members alleged that the prolonged delay in receiving the pension had pushed her into severe financial hardship and mental distress.
