India, June 26 -- The police in the Odisha capital here today arrested a person on charges of duping people by posing as an IAS officer.

The accused has been identified as Barada Sudheer of Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.

Sudhreer allegedly purchased a pair of luxury sunglasses from optical store near Rupali Square on Friday. But he refused to pay the money by identifying himself as an IAS officer, posted as a Sub-Collector.

On being informed by the employees of the shop, a team of the Saheed Nagar Police reached the spot and detained the accused for questioning.

The cops later arrested the accused after registering a cheating case against him.
