India, Aug. 7 -- Hantavirus has been a prominent, yet rarely widespread virus since its detection in the 20th century.
With an average case fatality rate (CFR) of 60%, hantavirus cases occur mainly in young adults. About 6 to 10 percent of cases even arise in children and may be difficult to diagnose due to the similarity of symptoms to other common infections.
