India, Aug. 24 -- Sentiment in global markets remains dampened by the deteriorating macroeconomic as well as geopolitical scenario. The looming U.S. sanctions against Iran, the potential spike in crude oil prices as well as the likely impact on inflation weighed heavily on market sentiment. A volatile bond market as well as the trade friction between the U.S. and Canada also mattered to markets.

Wall Street Futures are directionless around the flatline. Major benchmarks in Europe are trading on a mostly negative note. Earlier in the day, Asian markets too had finished trading on a mixed note.
