India, Aug. 6 -- Stocks have shown a lack of direction over the course of the trading day on Thursday, extending the lackluster performance seen for much of the previous session. The major averages have spent the day bouncing back and forth across the unchanged line.
Currently, the major averages are turning in a mixed performance. While the Dow is down 161.64 points or 0.3 percent at 54,187.48, the S&P 500 is up 10.22 points or 0.1 percent at 7,733.77 and the Nasdaq is up 99.44 points or 0.4 percent at 26,462.88.
